2023: House Of Reps Aspirants, Olaboopo, Holds Campaign Rally In Ifelodun/ Boripe /Odo Otin Federal Constituency For Oyetola’s Re-Election

 

 

The former commissioner for Women and Children Affairs in Osun State and House of Representatives aspirant, Barrister Olubukola Olaboopo, has held a campaign rally in the state, AMILOADED reports.

Olaboopo is vying for the Ifelodun/ Boripe /Odo Otin Federal Constituency seat in the House of Reps ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The ex-commissioner had recently declared her intention to contest for the House of Reps seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Commencing the program at Iragbiji in Osun State, the House of Reps aspirant, paid homage to the Aragbiji of Ìrágbìjí, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, at his palace on Tuesday.

The monarch commended Olaboopo and the IBO Women who accompanied the aspirant, saying, “I know all this is to support our Governor, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola and as women are the salt of the earth, they play a pivotal role in politics.

The former Osun commissioner and her entourage later proceeded to the venue where women leaders, Iyalojas across the constituency came out en masse to support the House of Reps aspirant as she canvassed support for Oyetola’s re-election.

Speaking, Olaboopo appreciated Governor Oyetola for the opportunity to serve and pray for his victory in the forthcoming election emphasizing that the role of women in any electioneering process can never be overemphasized hence the need to continuously engage them.

She added that the low representation of women in governance is a cause for concern mentioning that the usual excuse has been that women do not come forth whereas this is not true.

She reiterated the need for women to own and see the Governor’s project for which campaign committees have been set up as their personal projects. “Let’s be up and doing as campaign commences soon, let’s come out en masse as we did today to canvass and mobilise across board for the governor’s reelection.”

Speaking, a representative of the Iyaloja in the Constituency commended the convener for her astute leadership role at ensuring a common front for women in the federal Constituency, mentioning that such has never happened in the history of the State. She mentioned the different ways she has impacted women in the federal Constituency and assured her that market women and leaders are fully on ground for the Governor’s project and seizing the opportunity to express their support for the hopeful’s House of Representatives ambition.

Some of the women leader while reacting reiterated their support for the reelection and emergence of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola as the State Governor, they appreciated him for his commitment to their upliftment and applauded the former Commissioner’s courage to aspire for the House of Representatives, adding that they are with her fully.

The women had earlier toured the three local government areas of the Federal Constituency.
