THE Oluwo of Iwo Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi has offered details of his last private moments with the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.

Mourning the foremost monarch, Oluwo in a statement he personally signed, said he visited Alaafin last week when his mind told him to have a private jolly talks.

 

He said they scheduled an event for next month in Osun state but death truncated the plan.

According to him: “Alaafin was a worthy father. The rich and truthful pictures of Oba Adeyemi always endear liberal minds to him.

 

“During the last moment, we had a long talk about traditions. We had a jolly talks as usual at our last meeting. I told him that I have things in common with him and he was the pillar God used in keeping traditional institution”

 

 

“I enjoyed many things about Alaafin and I told him that he represented true traditional institution who always tells the truth and stood by it. I said that he was mentally rich and that caused our relationship to be strong. I prayed for him.”

He stressed the death of Alaafin qas a monumental loss to the traditional institution.

“Oba Adeyemi’s vacuum is most likely irreplaceable. His death is no doubt the end of an era. He was a force and a true, responsible father to the Yoruba nation.

“Even at death, I will continue to adorn him by promoting his achievement. His love and loyalty to Yorubaland was never questionable. He served the land wholeheartedly. Till his death, he was still serving,” Oluwo said.
