Olowu of Kuta Commends Aviation Minister For Limiting Emirates Airlines’ Flights To Nigeria

The Olowu of Kuta, Oba Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude Tegbosun III, has hailed the decision of the Federal Government limiting the frequency of United Arab Emirates (UAE) flights into Nigeria, AMILOADED reports.

The Osun monarch lauded the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, for the action taken against the Emirates Airline in tandem with the treatment meted out to Nigeria’s largest carrier, Air Peace, by the UAE aviation authorities.

The UAE operates 21 frequencies in Nigeria per week and refused to grant the Nigeria airline the permit to operate only three frequencies in UAE as the country stated that Nigeria can only operate one frequency into UAE per week.

Oba Makama, in his reaction, said the Federal Government of Nigeria has taken the right decision, commending the minister for the courage.

The monarch said, “Your singular patriotic prompt action on Dubai issue is worthy of commendation and emulations by others in position of authority.”

The traditional ruler further described Hadi Sirka as the ‘Majiyagbe of Nigeria’ (Someone safeguarding interest of Nigerians) just as he commended the minister on his move to reciprocate the travel ban on Nigeria by Canada, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and Argentina.

“You have earned us a huge respect we truly deserve as a country. If others in position of authority can emulate you, Nigeria lost glory will be restored in no distant time. Hon. Minister of Aviation, well done, and may God continue to protect and direct your affairs,” the Olowu of Kuta stated.
