The ancient town of Ileogbo was agog on Friday as the Olu of Ileogbo, His Royal Majesty Oba Abeeb Adetoyese Agbaje Arowookunjoye ll, marked his 10th anniversary on the throne, AMILOADED reports.
The event, which attracted royal fathers, eminent personalities and business moguls across the country, was also used to flag off construction of golf course in the town.
The turning of sod for the construction of golf course and a hall was done at Lanre Adeleke Sports Academy, where lead golf lovers in Osun State, Engr Tunde Ponle and Alhaji Olatunde Badmus we’re present.
This was just as different groups, artisans, among others trooped out in colourful attires to mark the 10th anniversary of the monarch.
Speaking, the Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Dokun Abolarin, appreciated the sons and daughters of Ileogbo calling on them to come together for the development of the town.
The monarch further called on traditional rulers in Osun State to be united in charting course for development of the state, adding that the era of over-dependence on government has gone.
“For we the monarchs, no amount of rancour will bring development to our State. We need to come together and chart new course for our State. If we want to have an international airport in Osun, we have what it takes. Without troubling the government for resources. All we need to do is to be united,” he said.
Oba Abolarin appreciated the founder of Lanre Leke Sports Academy, Engr Lanre Adeleke, for being a source of inspiration for the younger ones just as he called for more for investment towards the future of the country by investing in the education sector.
On his part, Justice Jide Falola emphasized on the develop that the reign of Oba Agbaje has brought into the community, describing it as a fruitful tenure for the sons and daughters of Ileogbo.
“A look at the development of Ileogbo in the last ten years have shown that Oba Abeeb Agbaje is having a fruitful reign. Because of his personality, he has been able to galvanize the sons and daughters of the community home and abroad to work with him for the progress of all and sundry. Oba Agbaje apart from this, also has listening ears. He also carry everyone along in the decision making.
“In short, Oba Agbaje has been so instrumental in bring laudable development to Ileogbo. IleOgbo is now on the World map because of the development we are witnessing here,” Justice Falola stated.
Speaking, the excited Oba Agbaje expressed his gratitude to God for witnessing the milestone.
The monarch appreciated sons and daughters of the Ileogbo for their supports, calling on them to do more for the development of the community.
