Brig-Gen. Dzarma Zirkusu was leading his men on the battlefront when he ran into an ambush set by the enemy.

Rising to the height he attained before his life was cut short, is not a small feat.

In other words, it can be said that as a true soldier, he laid down his life for his country.

What a sacrifice paid my the officer and others who died in that encounter.

Below are four things to know about Gen. Zirkusu.

The deceased was an indigene of Adamawa State.
In January, he was moved from Headquarters 1 Brigade, Gusau, Zamfara State to headquarters 28 Task Force Brigade, Chibok, Borno State, as Commander.

Chibok was his last duty post before he was murdered alongside some officers.
The deceased was the most senior officer to have died in the fight against terrorism.
