Anti-Buhari Comment: Adamawa APC Chair Breaks Silence, Reacts To His Expulsion

The immediate past, Yola South Local Government Area, Adamawa State, chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Sulaiman Adamu, has reacted to his expulsion by the APC.

He described his expulsion from the APC which was ratified by the Caretaker/Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee, on Wednesday, as an act of God, which he accepts in good faith.

Adamu, who spoke on Thursday, said the party was yet to officially communicate its decision to him.

He said, “I have accepted my fate. I see it as Allah’s will. All I have ever wanted is for the APC to remain in power and this can only be guaranteed by our victory at the polls.

“But now, I have been expelled. Notwithstanding, I will still urge my followers not to leave the APC. We built this party with our sweat; it is inconceivable to now encourage them (my followers) to leave.

“Since this solely affected me; when I meet with them, I will tell them not to leave but to stay. I accept my fate. May God bring peace to our country.”

“There will be elections, I have my voter’s card, right. At least, they have not stripped me of that. Because I have never been a member of any political party other than the APC. So, don’t even expect me to join the PDP.”

Earlier yesterday, the national leadership of the party announced Adamu’s expulsion in a statement titled “APC Expels Yola South LGA Caretaker Chairman, Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu,” signed by the National Secretary, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, in Abuja.

He explained that the decision was part of the resolutions reached at the 16th meeting of the CECPC held at the Party’s National Secretariat, Buhari House in Abuja on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.

Akpanudoedehe noted that the party leadership ratified the recommendations of the disciplinary committee set up by the Adamawa State chapter to look into allegations against him.

He said, “Recall the viral video in which Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu made unwholesome utterances on President Muhammadu Buhari, the Leader of the Party.

“He was also found guilty of bringing the image of the party to disrepute thereby creating doubt on his leadership quality and loyalty to the party.”
