Why Sunday Asefon Emerged As NANS National President – Osun Candidate For NANS Presidency, Tunice Reveals

 

The presidential aspirant for the post of national president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) from Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Comrade Adekitan Lukman popularly addressed as Tunice has finally reacted to the emergence of Comrade Sunday Asefon as the NANS National President.

In a statement personally signed by him on Sunday, Comrade Tunice said that the antecedent of Asefon as a former coordinator of NANS Zone D (Southwest) made him emerged as the NANS National President.

While speaking on how he felt about the outcome of the convention, he disclosed that himself and the new NANS president are product of the same progressive structure from day one and that the different teams were only created for campaign administrative convenience, adding that he thank God almighty that their effort yielded the right result at the end.

According to his statement, ” I joined well meaning Nigerians across the globe to celebrate with the newly elected National President Of the National Association Of Nigerian Students, Comrade Sunday Asefon on his victory at the just concluded convention which took place at the Old Parade Ground in Abuja on Friday, December 4, 2020.

“His emergence is a well deserved victory which shows how widely accepted and recognized he is among Nigerian Students and stakeholders.

“I reiterated that the antecedent of Sunday Asefon as a former Coordinator of the most ideological zone of NANS, NANS ZONE D stood him out during the course of the election.

“I also took time out to thank all leaders, members and supporters of Team Revivification for keeping faith with him when he merged the team with that of the Symbol of New NANS.

“Myself and the new NANS president are product of the same progressive structure from day one and the different teams were only created for campaign administrative convenience. We thank God almighty that our effort yielded the right result at the end.

“With the new National President providing leadership, we shall together continue serving the interest of Nigerian Students with more vigour”.
