Outrage As Soldier Beats, Strips Lady Over ‘Indecent Dressing’ (Photos, Video)

Nigerians on social media have reacted negatively to a viral video footage of a Nigerian soldier assaulting and stripping and unidentified lady in Ogun state over “indecent dressing”.

According to the Twitter User that shared the video the soldier also attempted to remove the lady’s bra but stopped short after passers-by pleaded on her behalf.

“This soldier got out from the bus he was in to drag this girl on the road and start beating her. He slapped her, dragged her hair, all because of how she was dressed,” the Twitter user who shared the video disclosed.

“This was in Ogun state and I just wished there was a way to get this stupid soldier. The worst part of this thing is there was a woman that thought this was right and she said ‘this will be a lesson to her and others.”

The Nigerian Army is yet to issue a statement on the development. Several Twitter users expressed disgust at the incident.

A twitter user, @Olajuwo45338760 wrote; “Na so! Wetin dem suppose do them nor go do na helpless, armless citizens dem go dey flec muscles untop upandan! Awon werey gbogbo ninu camou! Nemesis will cat h up with them soon.”

@ViktorEdeh wrote: “Animals. They won’t see boko haram and bandit but an unarmed lady going about her business. Zombie them.”

Another User, @Sambeth10 wrote: “Nigerian military be operating with the sharia law. What’s the meaning of these nonsense?”

  1. Who are those accusing the soldier for the act, the lady prefer been naked before the officer just help her. I pray if the action stop them from wearing indecent dresses to the street, here is Nigeria not oda country.

Government should make it a lawful operations in our country mostly all institutions

  2. This is plain assault by a man in uniform who should be better informed
The man should be charged for assault including the organization he represents being in uniform. Let them come and explain who gave him the mandate to control adult dressing in public.
