SUBEB Chairman, Famurewa Says Attack On Governor Oyetola A Rebellious Attack By political Thugs

The Executive Chairman of Osun state Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) who is also the Director General of Ilerioluwa Movement, Honourable Israel Ajibola Famurewa has said that the attack on the State governor is a rebellious by political thugs and hoodlums.

 

Famurewa said this in a statement made available to AMILOADED on Sunday concerning the attack on Oyetola’s convoy on Saturday.

According to Famurewa, the youths are protesting peacefully across the nation because of intimidation and maltreatment been faced by the Ex SARS officers and Osogbo who is the capital city is also among places where the youths are protesting peacefully against injustice and Mr Governor travelled out of state to state to table the demand of the youths to the relevant stakeholders in security sector, which Mr president is the commander in chief of Armed forces.

Famurewa said Mr Governor walked down with the protester from Alekuwodo to olaiya junction to address the End SARS adding that he wore a customized End SARS cap to show his solidarity and to let the youths knows that he is on the same page with them.

 

He stated that the greatest surprise was that political thugs and hoodlums infiltrated the place while the Governor is addressing the cowards and they started shooting sporadically, using machetes and throwing stones on the governor’s convoy.

 

Famurewa noted that the said Oyetola as a father of all and man of peace ordered his security details not to shoot as they quickly ran for cover noting that the political thugs and hoodlums destroyed all the vehicles on the Governors convoy while some of the people attached to his convoy sustained injury and the hoodlums loots Osun mall and orisunbare market which lead to the fire that raised the post office.

 

Speaking further on the incident, he said the Governor is a true democrat, a man of Peace which is why Osun is ranked as the most peaceful state in Nigeria and Oyetola will not allow anyone to play politics with the peace of Osun.

 

“Because Mr Governor is determined to protect lives and properties, he asked the DSS to make sure the perpetrators are brought to book and he asked them to investigate what lead to the death of two persons which one is said to have died in a lone accident through rough riding of motor bike and the other one through stray bullet at Oke -Ayepe,” Famurewa said.

 

He further advised parents and guidance to continue to keep an eye on their children and always orientate them on how to be patriotic citizens
