2020: Pray For Political Leaders Regardless Of Your interests, Osun PDP Tells Nigerians

The Peoples Democratic Party, Osun State Chapter has advised Nigerians, especially the people of the state to be law abiding, shun anti-social behaviours and ensure they pray for political leaders regardless of their political interests.

Wishing all a Happy New Year 2020, the party in a statement issued by the state chairman of the party, Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo and made available to journalists in Osogbo on Tuesday urged citizens to remain law abiding and support constituted authorities.

“Whatever the situation we are passing through as human beings at any particular time of our lives, it is never without the knowledge of God and there is nothing we can do to change it. No man can force himself or herself into power except with the knowledge of God,” Adagunodo said.

He Quoted the book of Romans 13:1-3 which says “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended.”

Adagunodo, however, reminded the citizens to be prayerful for those in authority to do it right and pray for the improvements in the country’s economy, the state economy and individual economy so that life can be better for all of us.

He warned them not to be law breakers but to be law abiding “because whatever conditions we are today is not and cannot be permanent since those in power today will spend only four years and if their style of governance is unfavorable to us, another four years is already knocking at our doors where we will have a better choice of leaders to make.”

The Peoples Democratic Party therefore, promised the people that in a short while they will have a better life under the administration of the human faced political party, PDP, come 2022 in Osun State and 2023 in the entire country.

According to the opposition party “good governance under PDP has been experienced by the people and we don’t have to repeat how good it was and if given another chance at the polls, we will still repeat that lofty administration but this is realizable  only if our people can close their eyes to financial inducements on election days and vote the party of their choice which is the surest way of electing leaders with good conscience and fear of God.

He admonished all citizens to start a crusade of building and strengthening their political party that will be stronger than any individual or group upon which responsible democracy can be established.
