Omooba Dotun Babayemi has won Osun West Senatorial District ticket of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), for 2019 National Assembly election, in a primary election held across the 110 wards in district.
The Gbongan-born prince was unanimously voted to contest the National Assembly election on the platform of ADP by all members of the party.
The ADP Senatorial candidate who expressed gratitude to his supporters assured the party that he will embarked on a project that will add values to the living and bring people out of poverty.
He said ” You all know what I stand for, I know what the need of our people in this district are. If elected I will do my best to add value to living in our Senatorial District. It is a tasked that must be accomplished and with hard work, we will achieve our goal.
Addressing newsmen after the excercise held at ADP secretariat in Iwo, the governorship candidate of the party in the September 22 election, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the excercise.
He described the exercise that led to choice of Babayemi as “democratic, fair and acceptable to members of the party”, adding that ADP would never allow imposition in its fold.
He urged residents of the West Senatorial District to support ADP candidate, whom Adeoti described as the best for the position.
Speaking, ADP party chairman Osun state, Mr. Toye Akinola, noted that the party symbolises peace and offers better deal for Nigerians.
According to Akinola, Babayemi was elected as the ADP candidate because of his antecedents and urged electorate in the district to vote for him, to allow unhindered dividends of democracy for all and sundry.
Babayemi said: “you all know what I stand for. I know what the needs of our people in this district are. If elected, I will do my best to add value to living in our Senatorial District. It is a task that must be accomplished and with hard-work, we will achieve our goal.”Babayemi
