2018: Selection Of Candidate From Osun West Will Boost APC’s Chances Of Winning – Saka-Layonu

As calls have been going to the leadership, elders and members of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Osun State to consider picking their candidate from Osun West Senatorial District of the state, a leading  governorship aspirant under the party, Dr. Ismail Saka-Layonu has revealed that the selection of APC’s candidate from the zone would fetch the party victory at the poll.

Addressing the party leaders and faithful on Wednesday in Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government area of the state during his consultative tour round Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo Otin Federal Constituency, Saka-Layonu appealed to the party to pick it’s flagbearer for the September 22 governorship election from Osun West.

According to him,  the clamour became imperative partly because the Isiaka Adeleke’s first civilian rule in the state was halted after few months by the military government after which Osun West has supported two other Senatorial Districts to produce governors who have ruled the state

For the aspirant who hails from Ede, the district could boast of qualified aspirants like himself who are capable of succeeding incumbent Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

Insisting that the party would not rue if it selects it’s candidate from Osun West, Saka-Layonu, a SAN, also visited other local governments in the Federal constituency with strong clamour for Osun West production of Aregbesola’s successor.

Receiving the governorship hopeful, Chief G. O. Lawal who is one of the party’s leaders in the state also supported the agitation for Osun West saying the party would be seen as being fair if it considers the agenda.

The Balogun Musulumi of Ikirun Land then described Saka-Layonu as a true son of his late father, Saka-Layonu whom he described as a friend and a considerate politician who served as a Minister in the country’s first Republic.
