Osogbo Rejoices As Olatunde Becomes OOU’s Substantive Vice Chancellor.

Osogbo-born profesionals home and abroad, under the aegis of Osogbo Affairs Forum (OSAF), have congratulated another son of the town, Professor Ganiyu Olatunji Olatunde on his appointment as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State.

In a statement jointly signed by the group’s Convener, Prince Hameed Oyegbade and its Steering Committee Chairman, Barrister Abdulrahman Okunade, the group described the appointment of the erudite professor as an excellent decision by the Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, given the appointee’s pedigree in his career.

The professionals particularly expressed confidence that the tenure of Professor Olatunde as Vice Chancellor of the 35-year old university would witness tremendous progress, considering the professor’s track record and wealth of experience which has seen him hold forth at different times as Deputy Vice Chancellor, Osun State University, Acting Vice Chancellor, Osun State University, Chief of Staff to Governor Ibikunle Amosun among other offices he has held in the past.

“While we commend and appreciate Governor Amosun’s eyes for excellence, we are confident that the tenure of our brother, Professor Ganiyu Olatunji Olatunde as substantive Vice Chancellor of the Olabisi Onabanjo University will further promote excellence and bring about unprecedented human and material progress for the university”, the statement read in part.

“We also extend our congratulations to the entire management and staff of the university on the birth of a new dawn in the university with the emergence of this seasoned and go-getting university administrator as the school’s new helmsman”, the group concluded.

The Osogbo-born professor of Entomology6 was until his recent appointment, the acting Vice Chancellor of the same Olabisi Onabanjo University.
