Brain Builders International Organises Essay, Oratory Competitions For Osun School Teens; To Reward Winners With N.5m

A Non-govermental organization Brain Builders International has announced its readiness to organise essay and oratory competitions for school teenagers in Osun state as part of activities to mark the fourth edition of its annual Teens Speak Out programme.

In a press release made available to Amiloaded on Wednesday, the coordinator of the group, Mr Olasupo Abideen said the annual programme tagged: “Let The Teens Contribute To National Development,” will come up on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Osogbo Government High School Hall, Osogbo, by 10am prompt.

Olasupo said the competition would hold among pupils of selected thirty schools in the state adding that winners of the essay and oratory competition would get 500,000 as prize.

The release reads “Brain Builders International is ready to stage the fourth edition of its annual Teens Speak Out in Osun State. The programme which is themed “Let the Teens Contribute to National Development” would be coming up on Thursday, the 26th October, 2017, at Osogbo Government High School Hall, Osogbo, by 10 am prompt.

“It’s important to note that young minds have roles to play in the development of our nation, the more reason they need to be groomed properly, to be able to carry the drowning gown of leadership easily when time moves them closer to taking decisions capable of helping our nation progress.

“Brain Builders International feels enough attention is centred on the youth by well-meaning organizations, with most forgetting to carry along those who would fill up the spaces the youth would leave in some years to come.

“If there would be little things to do to develop our young minds when they grow to become responsible youths of this nation, then good work should start now, which is the logic behind Brain Builders International annual reasoning challenge for the beautiful minds in the State of Osun.

“It is important to note that productive results have been recorded from previous editions of Teens Speak Out in Osun State, which has seen us remain resolute in our efforts to develop the students of Osun State to be vibrant in constructive criticism, critical thinking and reasoning.

“This year’s edition would see more than 30 schools in Osun State come together to compete healthily in the oratory and essay categories, with rewards worth five hundred thousand naira for the winners of the contests and their schools.

“The contests constantly ensure that students are up to date, with regards to national and international happenings, as students brilliantly utilise handy facts in supporting their claims, in written and oral contests.

“Teens Speak Out has also helped in exposing students and teachers to areas where they need to improve on, as printable improvements have always been noticed. It’s also important to note that the awards we give out have been immensely helpful in fostering the development and growth of students by seeing to their academic excellence.”
