The ancient town of Iwo in Osun state was agog on Sunday as dignatries including Governor Rauf Aregbesola and the Are Oba Kakanfo designate, Otunba Ganiyu Adams stormed the city to celebrate the 50th birthday anniversary of the Special Adviser to Osun governor on Information and Strategy, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon
The hall of the Waterside Hotels in Iwo was filled beyond capacity as prominent politicians, technocrats, business and media guru among other professionals throng the venue to honour Okanlawon, who is one of the many illustrious sons of Iwo land.
At the birthday bash which was dotted with pomp and pageantry, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in the state, Dr. Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, delivered an essay in honour of the birthday celebrant on the topic: New Age: New Thinking, New Ideas about Nigeria Affairs. “
Dignataries who spoke glowingly of the former Director of the Bureau of Communication and Strategy, Office of Governor Aregbesola, described him as rare professional in the media.
For Governor Aregbesola, Okanlawo remains one of his hardworking and talented aides adding that he has contributed immensely to the success of his administration.
Well wishers at the well attended event congratulated Okanlawon and sang birthday songs for him.
