Residents of Iregun community in Ward 04 of Obokun State Constituency in Osun have been thrown into jubilation following the facilitation of some community projects by the lawmaker representing their constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon Adewumi Adeyemi Irekandu.
The projects provided for the constituents included market stalls, borehole and renovation of the community health centre.
Explaining how the facilitation of the projects started, the lawmaker said he had visited the Osun State Agency for Community and Social Development Project where means of alleviating the challenges of the community members.
Irekandu said the projects would benefit his constituents especially the physically challenged and the less privileged among them.
The lawmaker in a statement made available to AMILOADED said, “two days ago, I handed over a Cheque to a vulnerable group in IREGUN Ward 04, of my Constituency to facilitate the setting up of physical projects by the Osun State Agency for Community and Social Development Project.
“This happened barely some weeks after I visited the agency to discuss extensively with the leadership of the agency on ways to relieve the burdens of my constituents through projects and developmental programmes.
The vulnerable group comprises of the aged, widows and the disabled. These people strive daily to make ends meet and they have shown great zeal and rare courage to face the challenges ahead for improved way of life.
“The group in their several meetings held requested for the construction of borehole, market stalls and health centre renovation from the Osun State Agency for Community and Social Development Project for two purposes; infrastructural development and fund raising to assist their vulnerable group.
“I assisted the group in paying up the needed fund percentage because of their unparallel display of love for the community and sense of unity of purpose within the group. They represent a population of people who are tireless in pursuit of development for their well-being and with the ownership of such a project as this, a better life is up for them.
“The smiles on residents of Iregun community shows how happy they are and I commend the leadership of the group and especially the Agency for these beautiful projects.
“The meeting was attended by members of the group, the chairman of the group, residents of the community, the Chairman, Leaders and other Excecutives of the People’s Democratic Party among other personalities. We’ll keep building our communities,” he assured.
