An organisation, Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) has organised a training for journalists with a view to ensuring the actualisation of organization’s objectives.
The overall goal of the CSDP, according to the General Manger of CSDP, Mrs Funmi Abokede is to empower communities and make them develop.
Abokede stressed the need for media practitioners to partner with CSDP to make its aim of improving the welfare conditions of the poor masses a reality.
She said CSDP’s overall goal is to improve access to services for Human Development and for the Project Development Objective (PDO) to support empowerment of communities and Local Government Authorities (LGAs) for sustainable increase access of poor people to improved social and natural resource infrastructure services.
“Specifically, the CSDP Objectives are to empower communities to plan, part-finance, monitor and maintain sustainable and socially inclusive multi-sectoral micro-projects; facilitie and increase Community- LGA partnership on human development related projects.
“We aim to increase the capacity of LGAs, State and Federal Agencies to implement and monitor CDD policies and interventions; Leverage federal, state and local government resources for greater coverage of CDD interventions in communities.
Speaking at the training which held at Ben- Ber foundation, Igbona, Osogbo on Wednesday, Mrs Abokede lauded the Osun State Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola and also World Bank for their support.
She explained that CSDP started in 2009 under the government of former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
Mrs Abokede further urged the media to partner with CSDP in order to create awareness to people in its mission and vision.
She said CSDP does not implement projects but only funds and assists projects.
