Ekan Meje township in Oke Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State was agog on Friday as Davest College of Health Technology was commissioned and held her maiden matriculation ceremony for the students of year 2019/2020 academic session of the institution.
The provost of the College Dr Olusegun David Awoleye who expressed his delight at the venue assured indigenes of the town and its environs quality healthcare services trainings in a conducive environment through her strategic vision which was to provide the best research and services delivery niche in the health sciences.
In his welcome address, Dr Awoleye thanked and appreciated all the invited guests for gracing the occasion, also for their supports in ensuring the program was a success.
In his keynote address, Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Yakubu Salihu Danladi who was represented by his Deputy, Rt. Hon . (Sir) Adetiba-Olarewaju Raphael commended the provost of the College for bringing the institution to the community.
“For any State or country to be successful in terms of economy growth and development, it is necessary to be in private partnership synergy.” He said.
“I am happy that the first Tertiary institution in Oke Ero , Davest College of Health Technology, Ekan matriculates and inaugurates the first set of the students , it is a thing of joy that this kind of development is coming at this period and starting from my home town in Ekan , Oke ero local Government and I had the opportunity to be the special guest of Honour ”
He therefore urged the matriculating students to be focused, while admonishing them to face their studies so as to attain the greatest height in their future ambitions.
Hon. member Representing Irepodun/Isin/Ekiti /Oke -Ero . Hon. Tunji Olawuyi Ajuloopin, represented by Mr Gani simply called, also eulogized the visionary leadership of the provost of the institution, Dr Awoleye.
He pledged to donate a gigantic project to the institution as it’s the first of its kind in his Federal Constituency.
Dr Musa Oladimeji Dasuki ably represented by Director of Health Mr Sikiru in his speech, re assured the students of the authenticity of the provisional approval of the school.
” This institution was given her provisional approval early this year after meeting the requirements for the establishment of Tertiary Health Institution and the payment of approval fees to the state Government”
