Oba Abdulrafiu Oyekanmi Mosobaalaje II, the Olupo of Olupona land, elegantly commemorated and marked his one-year coronation anniversary.

On November 12, the District Council Secondary School in Olupona, Iwo hosted the grand finale of the anniversary, which started on Tuesday, November 7.

The grand-finale was graced by dignitaries from neighboring communities which include traditional rulers, state permanent secretaries, retired army general, notable sons and daughters of the community.

During his speech at the event, Hon. Bisi Ogunkale, the chairman of the anniversary planning committee, expressed his confidence that the ancient town’s ancestors are beaming with pride and joy, seeing us prepared and ready to reposition our beloved Olupona in the context of contemporary Nigeria and the global community.

Ogunkale also recognized Oba Oyekanmi Mosobalaje (II), the Olupo of Oluponna, for his outstanding managerial and leadership abilities.

The quality of youth who are well-nurtured and developed determines the future of any community, state, or nation, he continued.

Additionally, Oba Abdulrafiu Oyekanmi Mosobaalaje Bamigboye (II), the Olupo of Oluponna, launched the “One Billion Naira Multipurpose Entrepreneurial Skill Center,” which aims to develop future generations of skilled youth who will benefit not only themselves but the community and the world at large, by taking advantage of the unique opportunity that comes with his one-year coronation anniversary.

The monarch conveyed his appreciation to all dignitaries, the Olupona Descendant Association (ODA) both domestically and internationally, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Governor Ademola Adeleke, and God.

“I am incredibly moved by the joyful crowd that came to celebrate my first year of coronation and to show gratitude for God’s favor.” Oluponna had unwaveringly maintained her dominant position for a considerable amount of time, not only in the Aiyedire Loval Government Area but throughout the entire Yoruba Kingdom. The contributions of everyone are needed to maintain the status quo.

The monarch urged parents to strive toward providing their children with a high-quality education, noting that doing so will contribute significantly to the development of a healthy community that can compete favorably with other nearby communities.

Additionally, he asked Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, to offer up a prayer for the One Billion Multipurpose Entrepreneurial Skill Center’s success.

Oba Akinola Taofeek Akande, the Olukoyi of Ikoyi, told AMILOADED NEWS AGENCY: “We are going to celebrate Our Amiable King Abdul-rafiu Oyekanmi’s one-year coronation anniversary. His longevity is my prayer”.

“I was invited for this important occasion which is a week long activity for the one year coronation anniversary of the olupo of oluponna,” stated Rtd Lt General Lamidi Adeosun (CFR).

“Since the government is unable to provide for all of its citizens, what they are doing now is a copy of what is done in other communities. For this reason, the traditional rulers always need to start projects aimed at improving the lives of those living in their community.”

During his speech, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi expressed his gratitude for the community’s warm welcome and prayed that there will be happiness in every home.

“I also extend my congratulations to Olupona’s King Abdul-rafiu Oyekanmi for his accomplishment. “I pledge to contribute a significant sum to the One Billion Multipurpose Entrepreneurial Skill Center Project as well,” he declared.
