The Supreme Court is set to hear the case of Governor Ademola Adeleke and Adegboyega Oyetola over the duly elected governor and winner of the Osun gubernatorial election of July 16, 2022, today.

According to report, Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Challenging the victory at a tribunal led by Justice Tertse Kume-led, which sat in Osogbo, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was pronounced duly elected governor against the declaration of INEC.

But the Appeal Court, in a judgment by Justice Mohammed Shaibu on March 24, 2023, declared Adeleke returned as the authentic winner.

It was gathered that the apex court would on Monday hear the appeal filed by Oyetola against the victory of Adeleke.

The matter has been listed for the adoption of final written addresses by the parties today.

Adeleke and PDP are cross-appealing the decision of the Court of Appeal, aligning the Certified True Copy, the legitimacy of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, relied upon by the APC and the date on the certified true copy.

They are also cross-appealing on the issue of the co-authorship of the judgement and the validity of the tribunal judgement.

  1. Oyetola is practicing nonsense, what will he say that happened to him afterall the Osun State people said that they don’t want him as their governor again by showing this in voting for all PDP party people in senatorial election and representatives election respectfully throughout Osun State election, is there no other job that Oyetola can do except being a governor, please help me advice Oyetola to look for another job rather than being a governor,he is disturbing us in Osun State, we are tired of him.
