Bowen University Holds Public Lecture In Osun

Bowen University, in conjunction with the College of Management Sciences, on Friday, held a public lecture titled, ‘Thw Ecosystem of Crypto in Nigeria’ at the university in Iwo, Osun State, AMILOADED reports.

The event was held at the Red Hall, College of Health (COHES) Bowen University.

The guest speaker at the Lecture was Professor Olusegun Felix Ayadi, a Morgan Chase endorsed Professor.

Speaking at the event, the host, Prof. Sunday Owolabi, Provost, College of Management and Health Sciences, appreciated the VC, Prof. Olalekan Ogunwole, for the dynamism exhibited by the school and for spearheading the invitation of the guest lecturer.

Owolabi later said the world “is hanging and people need to be equipped”.

On his part, the guest speaker, Prof. Olusegun Ayadi, analysed the spears of cryptocurrency in Nigeria, saying, “It started with Bitcoin which can be linked to block chain.”

He added that the block chain is the technology while Bitcoin is the protocol.

“18000 crypto currencies are out there, including the dead ones. Despite the fact that Nigeria tops the chart of countries reading in crypto currencies, Nigeria is no where to be found on the list of countries gaining from the trade,” Ayadi said.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to Prof. Olusegun Ayadi for the lecture, and Dr Helen Thomas, Bowen University Academic guest.

Dignitaries at the event include the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Oluwatosin Atobaele representing the Vice Chancellor, Bowen University, Professor Olalekan Ogunwole, the registrar, Mr Babatunde Adetona, the Bursar, Mr Babatunde Ope Kolawole, the Librarian, Mrs Aderonke Otunla, among others.
