As the primaries to determine the sole candidate for the party come 2023 general elections holds in various state across the country. Akogun Lere Oyewumi and Mr Oluseyi Fabiyi have emerged as Senatorial candidates of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun West and Central respectively.
Oyewumi defeated his opponent, Peter Babalola and Mr Dele Adeleke to clinch the ticket of the party for the second consecutive time, having contested in 2019.
However, Fabiyi popularly addressed as Ajagunla defeated Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa and former Chairman of Irepodun local government, Kamarudeen Ajisafe to become the PDP standard bearer.
