Anglican Commercial Grammar School Osogbo, 1989 Set, Holds Maiden Reunion

The 1989 set of Anglican Commercial Grammar School, Osogbo, Osun State, has held its maiden class reunion, AMILOADED reports.

The event was held at the SOB Conference and Event Centre, Osogbo, the state capital on March 15, 2022.

Speaking at the event, the president of the 1989 set, Dr. Kayode Aleshinloye, said the purpose of the two in one event was to bring all the 89 set together after almost 33 years passing out from the school and also to extend appreciation and give back to the former teachers.

Present at the event was the former principal Deacon E.A Oyetade and other 13 former teachers, Mrs. S. M. Adeyemi, Mrs. O. O. Ajayi,  Mr. J.A. Atoyebi,  Mr. M.B. Ojo, Mr. Kojusola, Mr. Olusegun Famadewa, Mrs. Titilayo Adedeji, Mr. Saka Balogun,  Pastor Roland Oludare,  Alhaji L. Opatunji, Mrs. Sobaloju,  Mr. Aliu, and Pastor J.O. Adekola.

Also one of the 89 set, Mr. Suraju Saka was given a personal achievement award for his effort in the development of table tennis game in Africa.

Mr. Saka is a three time Olympian having represented Nigeria and Congo DR in three of the last four Olympics.

The current principal of the school, Mrs. E.E. Awoyemi, who addressed the former students, itemized all the present challenges facing the school and implored the former students to help bring the school back to its glorious past, saying the government cannot do it alone.

The former principal Deacon E.A Oyetade, on behalf of all the awardees, thanked the ANCO 89 set for the love, recognition and financial gifts given to them and prayed that God honor every member of the set.

On his part, the president 89 set, on behalf of the executives thanked all the former students for their financial contributions and commitment towards the success of the event.

He also appealed to other members of the set who are yet to join the group to do so.
