OSF 2021: Orolu, Ifelodun Council Chairmen Laud Teams’ Performance, Attribute Winning Streak To Courageous Efforts Of Management

The Chairman of Orolu Local Government, Ifon Osun, Hon. Adekunle Benson, and his counterpart from Ifelodun North LCDA, Eweta, Ikirun, Hon. Adeniyi Olaniyan, have lauded the performances of their respective teams as they both reached quarterfinals of the ongoing football competition, Osun Sports Festival (OSF), in Osun State.

AMILOADED reports that both Orolu and Orolu and Ifelodun Local Governments’ football club have qualified to the knockout stage of the competition from Ila and Ilesha centres respectively.

However, Hon. Benson, while reacting to the unbeaten run of Orolu FC, attributed the impressive performance to courageous efforts of the management, coaching crew and players just as he enjoined them to keep the ball rolling to win the tournament for his Council.

“I am happy for Orolu FC to be the first team to reach the knockout round. This shows unity and determination by the management, technical crew and players. Orolu FC is not a pushover in any football competition in Osun and beyond and I am very sure that all other teams will be afraid to face us,” the Chairman said.

Orolu FC Coach, Gbadegesin Akeem a.k.a Egun and the Team Manager, Irewumi Lateef while speaking with representative of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Osun State chapter, Seun Omolola, in Ila Orangun, saluted their players for playing according to instruction.

They revealed that the winning mentality of the footballers was hinged on the support of Hon. Benson’s led administration.

On his part, the Chairman of Ifelodun North Council, Hon. Adeniyi Olaniyan, said that there is no team that can withstand the firepower of Ifelodun FC in the competition, describes them as the team to beat.

“If you compare results of Ifelodun FC with those of other teams since the beginning of the competition, you will know that we are the best. We have despatched big teams like Olorunda and Osogbo FC out of the competition and caged Isokan FC. Believe me, this trophy is coming to Ikirun next month,” Hon. Olaniyan said.

In his reaction, the coach of Ifelodun FC, Zakariyau Lawal, said, “For us at Ifelodun FC, we fear no team and its is not over until it is over.”

Meanwhile, the quarterfinals of the competition will hold on Friday, October 1, 2021.
