Woman Dragged To Osun Court For Declaring House Help Wanted On Social Media

A woman, Adefisayo Adekunle, on Monday dragged before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Osogbo, for declaring her house help, Motunrayo Olatona, wanted on the social media.

AMILOADED learnt that the defendant was also said to have intended to harm Motunrayo when she asked her to use a charm she prepared.

According to the details of the charge pressed against the defendant, she was said to have on the 19th day of August, 2021 at Ayekale, Osogbo, conspired to endanger the life of one Olatona Motunrayo Opeyemi ‘f’, said to be her house help by preparing a charm for her to use.

She was also alleged to have unlawfully given a charm to the house help to use with the intent to injure her.

The defendant was also alleged to have conducted herself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by unlawfully sending a photograph of her house help and declared her wanted on social media.

The defendant was said to have committed offences contrary to and punishable under Section 516A (1), of the criminal code cap 31, Vol 11 Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002, as well as, Section 219 (d) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol 11 Laws of Osun state of Nigeria 2002.

When the four counts charges were read to her, Adekunle, however, pleaded not guilty.

Muftau Adediran, had announced appearance for the defendant and moved oral application for her bail.

The prosecutor, Razaq Olayiwola, did not oppose the application.

While ruling, Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara then admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200, 000 and one surety in like sum.

He, however, adjourned the matter till Friday, October 10, 2021.
