Unknown Gunmen Kill Six Herders In Osun

 

 

No fewer than six herders were on Saturday night killed when unknown gunmen raided a settlement in Wasinmi village, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State.

Our correspondent gathered that the unknown gunmen who stormed the Fulani settlement, opened fire and killed six herders on the spot.

Confirming the incident in a phone interview with our correspondent, the Osun state Police Public Relations Officer, Opalola Yemisi said that those killed are members of the same family, adding that investigation is ongoing.

She disclosed that the Commissioner of Police in the State, Wale Olokode, has moved to the village and Police detectives and other security agencies are currently hunting the perpetrators of the act.

 

She described the incident as unfortunate and vowed that the culprits would be arrested and brought to book.
