BREAKING: Osun Govt Writes Residents As COVID-19 Cases Rise

The Osun State Government has urged residents of the state to go for COVID-19 test to ascertain their status as the battle against the virus continues.

This was revealed in a statement on Monday by the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Rafius Isamotu, in Osogbo the state capital.

Isamotu who lamented the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in the state and other parts of the country insisted that mass testing would help in curtailing the spread of the disease.

He expressed disappointment at those who, according to him, refuse to believe the reality of the virus stressing that the UK COVID-19 strain is deadlier.

The Commissioner charged people of the state to stop the spread of the virus by masking up and following all the COVID -19 guidelines and protocols.

Meanwhile, the state on Sunday recorded 21 fresh cases of the virus, bringing the total number of recorded infections in the state 1, 516.

  1. The government has her own fault on the increase of Covid-19 in Osun State. Why? This is because the government has acted only as toothless dog. How can a government give an instruction and failed to relax at implementation stage.
Take for instance, the government has gone to the media to ask residents to do the following:
    (i) Constant use of face mask
(ii) Mini bus must not take more than 5 passengers
(iii) Okada must not carry more than one passenger.

Up till today none of the above has been strictly maintained and yet, no one has been penalized. Not until effective implementation coupled with relevant punishment is meted, no one would hold the government serious.

Before warned is before harmed. We shall not fall victim and may God heal the affected and grant eternal rest to the lost souls.
    Thank you.
