BREAKING: Osun Gov, Oyetola Speaks On Herders/Farmers Crisis, Proffers Solutions

 

 

The Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola has maintained that constant interaction with herders, artisanal miners and other strangers at the community and government levels will help mitigate violence in respective states and region.

 

Revealing this on his official Facebook page on Monday, the Governor said he proffered solutions on the issue of Herders/farmers crisis and recent surge in cases of kidnappings and killings particularly in Southwest when he joined his colleagues today from Ekiti, Oyo, Ondo, Kebbi and Kigawa State Governors to attend a meeting with the leadership of Miyyeti Allah.

 

Governor Oyetola said he told the stakeholders at the meeting that they must take a common and workable position that will rein in criminals and ensure peace in the nation.

He disclosed that a committee on peaceful coexistence between Fulani/Bororo and crop farmers has been established in Osun State, adding that with the help of the Committee, they have been able to resolve several cases amicably while recommending the initiative to other state governments.
