The Federation of Egbedore Local Government Student Association (FELGSA) on Saturday, celebrated its 20th Anniversary with series of organised activities.
The leadership of FELGSA played key role in reviving the 1999 established indigenous association.
AMILOADED News gathered that prequel to the grand finale celebration held at the National Secretariat in Awo, the rejuvenation team led by the National President, Olufemi Olaoluwa Atoyebi had organised various daily activities.
Some of the activities include, sport competitions with sisters associations, academic quiz competitions to several of the best students from the local government followed by a courtesy visit as excursion to the palace of the Ooni of Ife in Osun state.
Olufemi, the National president while delivering his speech reminded members of the association, colleagues and dignitaries present at the event that no country was built by angels and urged the spread of the gospel of FELGSA by pulling forces and resources to the benefit of students from the region must continue to be a top priority.
“Lots of prominent individuals from government office holders to successful business tycoons has emerged from this association and local government and through lots of supports, we’ve archived what can be seen today, the association experienced a period of been inactive but we are thankful to have bounced back standing stronger.
Olufemi said while speaking with Amiloaded TV news.
“This is also an opportunity to state that there is still more work to be done, like the completion of our Secretariat, engendering Bursary for students across the local government, scholarships, getting a brand new aluta bus as well as empowerment for felgites, he added.
Acknowledging the supports rendered the organisation, lot of appreciation were showered on traditional rulers, members of FELGSA council of elders, political leaders, academicians amongst others not only for financial assistance, but also for coming to the rescue in times of trials.
Expressing confidence in the student association as FELGSA scales up to two decades of existence, dignitaries at the event took turns to reaffirm support and even better future relationship with the association.
The dignitaries also dished out reorientations and words of encouragement to members and leadership.
Amidst the jubilations, lots of excitements prices were issued to the winners of various competitions and activities that marked the 20th celebration.
Awards were also presented in recognition of the tremendous impact of noble personalities present and represented at the historic event.
