Wasiu Ajadosu Defeats Dele Ajayi, Becomes Osun NUJ Chairman

 

The Osun State Council of Nigeria Union Of Journalists (NUJ) on Thursday organized a bye-election where a new chairman was elected to pilot the administration of the chapel till 2023.

AMILOADED gathered that Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu of the Radio Nigeria Chapel defeated his opponent, Dele Ajayi of the Uniq FM to emerge the new chairman.

Ajadosu polled 136 votes of the total votes cast to defeat his opponent, Dele Ajayi who polled 59.

The seat became vacant after the resignation of the immediate past chairman, Comrade Kehinde Ayantunji following his appointment as the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Students’ Affairs and Social Mobilisation.

Ajadosu was the Vice Chairman of the council during the reign of Comrade Ayatunji and later became the Acting Chairman until the Thursday election where he emerged victorious.

Our correspondent gathered that Comrade Sesan Adeleke of federated chapel emerged as Vice Chairman unopposed.

The swearing in of the new elected officers was immediately conducted by Barrister Oyesiku Adelu alongside Barrister Laide Awolola in the presence of National Vice Chairman B zone, Cosmos Oni among others.
