BREAKING: Lagos Poly Students Debunk NANS Faction, Claim ‘Impersonator’ Visited School As Escort

The students of Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) has rejected the southwest faction of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) who visited the Students Union Building of the polytechnic on Friday.

The students disclosed that Com. Giwa Yisa Timitope who impersonated to be the General Secretary of NANS Southwest only visits the school as an escort to their Students’ Speaker, Hon. Aworinde Gbolahan.

This was revealed to our correspondent in a statement jointly signed by the LASPOTECH Students’ Union President, Comrade Emmanuel Olamide and the Public Relations Officer, Comrade Ajao Taiwo on Saturday evening.

According to the statement, “This is a public disclaimer to state that the Lagos State Polytechnic Students’ Union Government on the Friday 18th of September indeed received Comrade Giwa Yisa Temitope to the school but only as an acquaintance to our erstwhile SRC Speaker Rt. Hon Aworinde Gbolahan Elijah who only paid a visit to the Union building to give his regards to the Union Officers that were in school, NOT AS THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF NANS ZONE D.

“This is because the only legitimately recognized NANS Zone D Secretary General that the Union associates and works with is COMRADE OLADOJA MUBARAQ of the COMRADE KAPPO OLAWALE SAMUEL led NANS Zone D Administration.

“We therefore publicly deny whatsoever links to Comrade Giwa Yisa Temitope as a NANS ZONE D office holder as previously falsely stated in the write up that he released on 19/09/20, it is completely false as he was only in the school as an Escort to our erstwhile Speaker Rt. Hon Aworinde Gbolahan.

“We also use this medium to express our disdain and irritation towards impersonation and false news about our Union. We firmly stand behind the legitimate NANS ZONE D leadership of Comrade Kappo Olawale Samuel who has always been of great support to the Union and the students at large, especially with the role he played in securing palliatives (noodles) from the Government for over 1,000 students of the Polytechnic that were stranded in the school area earlier in the the COVID-19 lockdown, just to mention a few of the good work that his administration has been doing for the LASPOSUG and the entirety of LASPOTECH students.

“We will like to use this medium to also reiterate our full and unwavering support to Comrade Oladoja Mubaraq as the Secretary General NANS ZONE D and Comrade Kappo Olawale Samuel as Co-ordinator NANS ZONE D.”
