Ramadan: Saka-Layonu SAN Congratulates Muslims, Calls For Prayers Against COVID-19

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state of Osun, Alhaji Ismail Abiodun Saka-Layonu (SAN), has congratulated Muslim faithfuls across the country especially in the State if Osun  on the 2020 edition of the holy month of Ramadan.

 

The Ede born politician in a congratulatory statement on Thursday described fasting, praying and engaging in all kinds of good deeds during Ramadan as immensely rewarding.

 

“Fasting in this holy month is one among the five pillars of Islam and we all have to be grateful to Allah for making us witness this year’s edition. As it is embedded in the holy month, we must also inculcate the habit of giving especially to the poor and other vulnerable members of our society.” Saka-Layonu admonished.

 

On the pandemic Coronavirus, the law luminary noted that it is an unfortunate development that has crippled the global economy and usual ways of life, charging Muslims to pray for an end to the rampaging COVID-19.

 

“Prayers especially the one done in the holy month of Ramadan like this get speedy acceptance  by Allah (S.A.W), I am confident that our creator will replace this challenging time with a better one In Sha Allah.

 

“Regardless of the sober reflection all over the world because of the novel coronavirus, I wish to congratulate fellow Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Ramadan.  Let’s be prayerful, hopeful,  stay safe and well  as we fast in our respective homes.

 

“We should not  forget to maintain social distancing, proper personal hygiene and regular hand-washing  among others as we play our part in defeating this common enemy.” Dr. Saka-Layonu (SAN) added.
