Don’t Allow Your Morale To Dampen, Osun Rep Charges Christians At Easter

A lawmaker representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal constituency in the National Assembly, Representative Bamidele Salam has rejoiced with Christians over this year’s Easter celebration.

While expressing optimism that the current siege on the socio-economic condition of Nigerians occasioned by the Coronavirus pandemic will soon be over, Salam asked Christians not to their zeal be dampened by the current situation of things in the country.

The lawmaker therefore urged Christians not to allow their morale to be dampened but rather use this year’s Easter celebration as an opportunity to increase family bonding, intercession and practical demonstration of love to neighbours.

In an Easter message he personally signed and made available to AMILOADED on Sunday, Salam said the absence of large gathering for worship and celebrations must not take away the true essence of Easter which is the good news that Jesus Christ is alive.

The lawmaker likened the low key celebration of this years Easter season occasioned by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic to the mood of the people of Samaria during a siege recorded in the biblical book of 2nd Kings Chapters 6 and 7.

He said just like the people of Samaria who appeared helpless in those years obtained help from the Almighty God and overcame the siege , Nigeria will also overcome its present challenges by the help of God and move into its season of greater joy in due course.

Salam urged Christians to rejoice in the unchangeable fact that Jesus Christ whose resurrection is being celebrated has promised in His word that He will never leave nor forsake those who trust in Him.

Describing the resurrection of Jesus as the sweetest news for every believer, Representative Salam urged Christians to make calls and send out messages of hope to their neighbours in the true spirit of spreading the good news of salvation.

While rejoicing with Christians worldwide for witnessing another occasion of the Easter celebrations, the lawmaker prayed that God heals everyone currently infected with the coronavirus and protect all caregivers and front line workers currently working to stop the spread of the COVID-19.

He pledged his continued personal support for vulnerable members of the communities in the Federal constituency and appealed for a more sustainable economic and medical intervention by relevant government agencies.
