Insecurity: Lawmakers Ask Service Chiefs To Resign or be sacked

The House of Representatives has asked Security Chiefs to resign or be sacked by President Muhammasadu Buhari.

The resolution was the outcome of a long drawn debate on the worsening security situation in the country.

Lawmakers want the chiefs of the army and air force to relocate to Maiduguri in Borno state until relative peace is achieved.

They are also pushing for intensified security checks on the Damaturu-Maiduguri road and other major roads in the North East.

The resolution is sequel to a motion by the Chief Whip Muhammed Monguno on the need to curb incessant attacks of the Boko Haram insurgents in the region.

The House suspended its order paper for the day and devoted more than five hours for the debate.

The legislators insist the government must declare a state of emergency on national security
