Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Statements: Between The Lines And Beyond The Words By Afolabi Abdulmalik

“Words mean more than what is set down on paper. It takes the human voice to infuse them with deeper meaning.” – Maya Angelou

It’s no more news that there have been several interpretations to the statements made by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he visited the Ataoja of Osogbo, presenting his Candidate in person of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the flagbearer of the All progressive congress(APC) in the coming gubernatorial election vin September 22, 2018.

In as much as it’s lavishly said that ‘One is entitled to his opinion’, I disagree. One is never entitled to his opinion, One is entitled to an ‘Informed’ opinion, because no one is entitled to be ignorant.

In the Lavishly discusses video, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu spoke with due respect to the kabiyesi, and he emphasized on the fact that his Candidate is never an opportunist that wants to seize same to make quick riches with Osun’s funds, he furthered by saying Aregbesola was trained and he delivered, and without any fear of contradiction, Oyetola would also deliver.

He also said if his candidate is looking for money  definitely, he should have still been in Lagos, but according to him, even the state doesn’t have the money he has, and he said this with profound respect. Therefore, he wants to consolidate the state’s development, and he’s never an opportunist.

He furthered by by saying Oyetola is an ‘Encyclopedia of finance’, and the atmosphere in which he spoke was very lively, as he even jokingly said, ‘I won’t look at the Kabiyesi before I say this’, he said –  _Eè lówó mi’_, which can be interpreted in English language as ‘You don’t have my money’, Who doesn’t have his money, according to him? Of course the state of Osun, not the Kabiyesi himself, as these enemies of progress claim. As an intellectual, you have to listen and listen between the lines, to learn and not to criticise.

I heard some set of ignorant beings saying that’s defamation, I laughed in pitying their ignorance, I said what’s defamation, they hilariously replied spoiling someone’s name. What an intellectual blindness! Well, Anywhere, Anytime, Truth is a complete defence for defamation, whereas, Asiwaju’s statements were far from being defamatory.

It’s quite unfortunate to see some lousy beings and enemies of progress twisting Asiwaju’s words as abusing the state of Osun in it’s entirety and Kabiyesi himself, the question is Does the state truly have his  money, the answer is an emphatic No!, so I see no reason why these individuals wants to put something on nothing, and obviously you can’t put something on nothing and expect it to stand, it’ll definitely fall. In view of this, their clamor is quite watery, baseless and at the same time laughable.

Furthermore, there was a slight emphasis on being _Ajélè_ (Alien) or not, the question however, is, can any of these people uttering such statement, pray that their children should school and trade around the world, and never come back to the state of Osun to develop the state?

Asiwaju rounded up by praying that may all our children be prosperous and bring fortunes home, and everyone said Amen in chorus.
