The ancient city of Ila Orangun in Osun state will today play host to prominent personalities as the traditional ruler of the town, Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Kayode Oyedotun Bibire 1 marks his 15th coronation and 60th birthday anniversary.
The Goveror of the state, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola (Special Guest of Honour) , Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Risikat Alabi and Alhaja Opeloyeru Onafuwa are part of the political stwalwats that have been invited to grace the twin celebrations.
Among the traditional rulers that would attend the occasion holding at the Oragun of Ila’s palace are the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, as the royal father of the day, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, Alara of Aramoko, Orangun of Oke Ila and Owa of Ajero.
Events marking these celebrations had commenced with since traditional homage by traditional chiefs, cultural display and praise and worship by Christian Association of Nigeria Ila Orangun on Thursday.
On Friday, there was a Jumat service and novelty footbal match (Ita Oba soccer Final).
Today, meanwhile, the events would climax with the grand finale, book launch and installation of Honourary Chiefs to rap up the ceremonies.
A media outfit in Osogbo, U and I media group will launch a book in honour of the celebrant monarch.
The book presentation titled “The Living Spring: A Biography of his Royal Majesty, Oba Wahab Kayode Oyesotun Bibire 1(the Orangun of Ila) was put together by a media guru and the Chief Executive Officer of U and I media group, Mr.Olusola Ajala.
According to the information made available by the U&I Media, Iba Gani Adams, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land and Senator Iyiola Omisore are the Chief Reviewers while Seyi Makinde and Hon Lasun Yussuff are the Chief Launchers.
A former Governor of Osun, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, is the Chairman of the occasion while Prof Siyan Oyeweso would be the book reviewer.
