A versatile broadcast journalist and entertainer, Olori Tola Bamidele-Adetifa is a year older today, January 5.
She has however decided to formally flag off her foundation, The Olori Tola Foundation conceived to assist less privileged and uplift the societal and human standards at large during her birthday celebration which will be held LIVE this morning at 10am on her TV show MITV WAZOBIA PLUS.
In a statement made available to Amiloaded by the birthday celebrant on Thursday, the foundation would be gifting young girls who have learnt how to sew and have successfully completed their apprenticeship with sewing and weaving machines in celebration of her birthday.
The broadcaster revealed that during the celebration of her birthday last year, four women were financially empowered.
Her words: “5th of January is my birthday. The day is however remarkable this year not just because of my birthday. It’s also going to mark the Kick Off of The Olori Tola Foundation, an age long dream.
“At last year’s celebration, we (Olori Tola Foundation) quietly looked out for 4 women, 1 who needed to start off and 3 others who needed to restock their depleting businesses. We supported them with a token and they were all grateful for it. We however did not monitor the progress as the Foundation wasn’t on fully then.
“This year we are gifting out Sewing and Weaving Machines to 2 young girls who have learnt the trade of sewing but do not have the machines to work with.
“This is one of the many focuses of The Foundation: Discover Young Talents and Entrepreneurs, help them find their Footings, Counsel their Parents on allowing them fly while making sure their academics are not tampered with.
“We also seek an understanding and helpful platform for men who are in relationships where they are physically or emotional abused, battered, distressed, traumatized by their women and other issues. The African Culture limits the man’s opportunity to speak out without his ego being tampered.
“The Olori Tola Foundation is a home for such men as we involve professional counsellors and more to engage such men or couple and therapeutically solve their problems without deflating the man’s ego nor denting the woman’s personality too.
“These and more that we will unfold in the nearest future are the focus of the foundation.
“So far, with God’s help and huge support from my husband Evangelist Bamidele Adetifa, I have run this alone with God’s help to this point but the truth is I can’t do this alone if the scope will be totally covered despite the fact that it is my personal dream and call.
The media guru cum entertainer is the main anchor of MITV Wazobia Plus, she also runs Thoess Communications, Lagos as a Media and Event Specialist {MC -Corporate/Social Events, Engagement Moderator- Alaga Iduro/Ijoko).
Mrs. Bamidele-Adetifa worked as a presenter at the Osun state broadcasting corporation (OSBC TV) where she Produced and Presented Soul Serenade a Relationship building show as well as Kiddies Fiesta.
