The Oluwo Of Iwo Kingdom, Oba(Dr.) Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi (Telu I) has joined other prominent Sons and Daughters of Iwo Land who have thrown their weight behind the forthcoming Iwoland Youth Conference.

The first class monarch made his endorsement known when receiving the members of the organizing committee, led by Yusuff Ola-Gold Mutalub, who paid him a courtesy visit at his palace on Monday, 8th February 2017.

Oba Akanbi did not only throw his weight behind the conference, he also gave his royal blessings to the project and assured that he would be attending the Conference, scheduled to hold April 8, 2017 in Iwo, Osun State, Nigeria.

The monarch described the conference as a noble one which he said would no doubt uplift the town.

Oba Adewale, also used the opportunity to advise all traditional rulers in Iwoland, families and individuals to stop selling their land for peanuts.

He noted that the rate at which we were losing our land for just peanuts was disheartening, which had increased the rate of land dispute in Iwoland.

He said he had received a lot of cases of land issues.

He decried that his people could be selling an acre of land for as low as fifty thousand. Which he said less than 100 dollars.

Oba Akanbi rather advised his subjects to start leasing out their land instead of outright selling of it, adding that they could leased it out especially for those that wanted to use it for farming and other Agricultural purposes.

Speaking earlier, the chairman Mobilization Committee, Mr. Damilare Daniel Ademilokan, said they were in the palace to intimate the Kabiyesi about their forthcoming Youth Conference and to seek for his royal blessings.
