Oluwo Of Iwo Lauds Police For Efficient Security In Osun

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Akanbi has lauded Osun State Police Command for ensuring efficient security in the state through proactive measures and prompt responses to security matters.

The monarch also commended the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Fimihan Adeoye for deploying patrol teams on the abandoned Iwo-Osogbo road which has just be reopened.
Oba Akanbi said this when he visited the CP in his office at the police headquarters in Osogbo, capital of Osun State.

The Oluwo said after opening up the road, motorists started plying route but majority of the road user were afraid of armed robbery attacks on the road. He noted that since the deployment of the police patrol teams on the road, motorists feel safe traveling on Iwo-Osogbo road.

Oba Akanbi noted that the opening up of the road has already started yielding positive results in terms of economy benefits. He assured the CP of adequate supports and cooperation of his subjects.

“When I opened up that road, motorists were happy and they started plying the road instead of the long route that they resorted initially. This is because of the fact that this route is shorter and straight.”
“But, unfortunately, most people couldn’t use this road because they were afraid of armed robbers. However, there is no more fear with the presence of police patrol teams on this road.”

While speaking, the commissioner of Police expressed gratitude to Oluwo for opening up the Iwo-Osogbo road. He also reassured the monarch that police would not relent in ensuring that adequate security on the roads.

Adeoye noted that the decision of Oba Akanbi to open up the Iwo-Osogbo road was worthy of emulation, saying that every community must and individual must embark on social services as a way of assist the government.
