Ogun Judiciary Pledges To Support EFCC And The Anti Corruption War

The Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Mustapha Magu, was in Abeokuta, Ogun State to interact with judges and magistrates in the state to seek the support and collaboration of the judiciary in finding a common resolve to combat the scourge of corruption.

While expounding his appreciation of judges who in the face of daunting challenges courageously pursue justice and enthrone the rule of law, Magu reminded his hosts to oblige the Commission “continuous and expeditious designation of courts or judges to hear Economic and Financial Crimes cases as well as adoption of appropriate legal measures to avoid unnecessary delays and abuses.

“In response, Honourable Justice Olatokunbo Olapade, Chief Judge of Ogun State said she and her brother lordships were happy to have the acting Chairman of the Commission personally in their midst as she vowed to support and collaborate with the agency in its effort at ridding the country of all economic and financial crimes including corruption especially since Magu assumed leadership saddle.

According to her, “who does not know EFCC? Even a toddler knows. We are happy that you are doing well and we commend you for that. Our judges have been attending economic and financial crimes related courses to keep them abreast with current trends.

 We shall continue to see that the innocent do not suffer. We shall do our work without fear or favour and you shall surely receive the encouragement you deserve”.
